Bali has long been revered as the most idyllic, exotic island in the world. Everyone talks about the temples and rice fields, the dance and art, the surfing and the bar scene, but rarely is there a mention about dining.

Now this is changing as we unveil the exceptional talents and achievements of Bali’s best chefs and best restaurants in the Bali Dining Festival 2007!

A month long indulgence awaits lucky travellers to Bali in the month of August as a wide variety of restaurants open their doors to gourmets and gourmands as they show off their culinary prowess.

Brought to you by HSBC, who has a strong presence in Indonesia and across the region, and supported by The Bali Tourism Board, Bali Hotels Association, Bali Culinary Professionals and Garuda Indonesia, the Bali Dining Festival is set to be a regular annual event on the Bali scene.

SAFARI I:
The Nusa Dua Safari
CLASS, COMFORT AND ENTERTAINMENT
Start at 6pm at Ikan Restaurant at The Westin Resort for cocktails and Chef Dario exciting starter. It’s then just a short trip to Raja’s Balinese Restaurant at Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa for a superb main course courtesy of Chef Darren. Then the bus takes you – wine in hand-to the Nikko Bali Resort & Spa fantastic Kupu Kupu Amphitheatre for a lavish dessert and liqueurs.
A must do expedition!

Participation Fee: Rp. 1.100.000 including Excellent 4 course menu, Transportation from one restaurant to another, Refreshments on the bus, 10% discount for HSBC Card Members.

The Jimbaran - Nusa Dua Safari
THE LUXURY EXCURSION
Culinary supremos Dean, Raymond and  Gary have conspired to make this trip a gourmet’s delight!  Starting with cocktails at delightful Dava at the Ritz-Carlton Bali Resort & Spa at 5.30
so you don’t miss the sunset-you are then whisked down the hill to di Mare at Karma Jimbaran Resort for a poolside main course. Then (glass in hand) there’s a trip to the Conrad Bali Resort & Spa where Spice’s superb desserts, coffee and liqueurs await. The ultimate dinner experience!

SAFARI III:
The Kerobokan - Seminyak Safari
Dining, Nightlife & Chic Fun

We start in the heart of ‘Eat Street’ Jl. Oberoi, at the exceptional Kaizan Restaurant where Mily will conjure some marvellous modern Japanese delights. It’s just a short trip to the beachfront magnificence of Breeze
at The Samaya where Torsten will unveil his main course masterpiece. After that it’s just minutes to hu’u Restaurant & Bar where dessert, coffee and liqueurs served by Abu finish the Safari but start the evening in one of Bali’s top night spots!

SAFARI IV:
The Ubud Safari
PEACE, BEAUTY AND SUPERB FOOD

The Viceroy’s marvelous Cascades Restaurant starts off the Ubud cultural evening with Chef Wayan’s starters. We then move into the centre of Ubud to the main course of Roland’s creation in his Lamak Restaurant (designed by uber-hip Made Wijaya). Then it’s off to the exceptional Ubud Hanging Gardens for dessert and liqueurs in Beduur conjured up by Chef Renaud.

Participation Fee: Rp. 1.275.000 including Excellent 4 course menu, Transportation from one restaurant to another, Refreshments on the bus, 10% discount for HSBC Card Members.

HOW TO BOOK:
Contact the front office or concierge in your hotel or call the Bali Dining Festival Event Line: 0361-769439. Bookings must be made at least two full day in advance to secure a place and secured by a credit card number.

HOW TO PAY:
All payments will be made at the first restaurant by cash or credit card.

HSBC Gold & Platinum Card members and Premier Accounts get 10% discount on all Safaris when paying with their card.

TRANSPORTATION
All Safari’s start and finish at the first restaurant.  You may leave from the final restaurant if you have arranged your own transportation.
